FBLA State Leadership Conference 2013
Twelve students attended the State Leadership Conference on April 25-27 in Spokane, WA. Ally Bott and Jeremy Burke both made Finals in Creed (Ally) and Electronic Career Portfolio (Jeremy). The Community Service Project Team of Shelby Fuchs, Consuelo Arteaga, and David Kittrell presented their Career Day Project. Other students competing included Wyatt Hyer, Evan Wolf, Peak, McKenney Jones, Carol Entrup, Cheyenne Miller, McKenzie Uto.

Business Sponsorship
Students can ask local businesses to sponsor their trip to FBLA State Leadership Conference in Seattle, WA on April 11-14th. Students will then complete 5 hours of community service to each business that sponsors them by May 19th. Below is a suggestion on how to contact an employer:
1. Dress professionally and go to the local business
2. Ask to speak with the manager or owner (you should know them by name)
3. Explain that you are a member of Future Business Leaders of America Chapter at the high school and have qualified to attend the State leadership conference in April and compete in (what ever event).
4. Tell them you are looking for sponsorships from local businesses to attend the conference in return will complete 5 hours of community service.
5. Also explain that FBLA has a professional chapter and provide them with the information sheet and registration to the Professional Organization for them to review.
6. If they sponsor you have them write a check to FBLA Pomeroy High Chapter, then complete your information on the the service worksheet and give to them, asking them to contact you when they are in needed of any volunteer work.
7. Thank them for their support
8. Give the Money and the Name of the business/contact to Mrs. Miller - she will provide you a thank you card that you will write a thank you note and we will mail to the business.
All Sponsorship Money must be turned in as you receive it and is due by March 30th. All volunteer hours are to reported back to Mrs. Miller by May 19th.
